Big Cartel!

I’m going to have to keep this short – due to my one handed typing.. but i thought i should introduce you to our new shopping cart system.  Lots of you are already familiar with Big Cartel – it’s a place where small businesses can sell their wares. I’ve used another cart system until recently but we’ve been having some issues with the site loading properly so – as of now – all dolls will be sold on BIg Cartel – http://bamboletta.bigcartel.com/ . We will link page to our site soon – but I’ll put it everywhere so you can’t miss it!

So at upload time the dolls will all load on the home page – like this (we are changing the look of the shop around – the layout will be the same but it may look a bit different soon)

S0 – you will click your doll of choice and come to this …click on ‘add to cart’ .. but the doll isn’t yours yet – remember there are LOTS of people on at the same time .. so there could be a couple of you putting the doll in your cart at the same time.

After you  click ‘add to cart’ and this is VERY IMPORTANT… select your shipping country and HIT CHECKOUT and NOT update order’! At this point – if you are the quickest- the doll is yours BUT if someone is a millasecond faster the doll may jump out of your cart.. fingers crossed!!

Then you are taken to Paypal – don’t worry if you don’t have an account – if you look on the left side – it gives you a link to pay with just a credit card .. (and yes my total here and the cart total is different – i was playing around)Screen shot 2010-11-23 at 8.03.52 PM

So – there you have it –  this system is easier – no accounts to create – and (fingers crossed) dolls load at once… we gave it a test run last Friday and it went well.. as a lovely fan said – it’s one thing to be disappointed that you don’t get a doll – it’s another to be disappointed AND frustrated. Please still remember that there are LOTS of people after a few dolls – we can only make so many. I understand frustration but please keep this in mind.

Okay – I have to go – my hand is killing from the one handed typing !

Lots of love,

C

If there were a Heisman trophy for customer service, you’d win it HANDS DOWN…..or HAND down. Kidding! Love your work and dedication to serving your fan base and customers! Heal quickly. Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh Christina, I hope Big Cartel goes well for you. Lots of people I know are happy with it, but then, no one I know is quite so in demand as Bambo dollies! Rest that hand, lady, you’ve got to heal!

Thank you for posting this. I have only one tiny little niggle with it though (sorry!) – if you are outside of Canada it takes an awful lot longer to select your country. If you start typing the name, it doesn’t automatically pop up – it seems you have to scroll down until you find the right country, so puts you at a very slight disadvantage. Is it at all possible to change this option to just Canada or International, rather than a whole list of countries to level the playing field a bit more?

Abby - November 24, 2010 - 3:18 am

Love the change…can’t wait to see what beauties I’ll have the chance to try for on Friday!! Maybe I can change my status to non-newbie with bigcartel’s help!!!

I had filled in my credit card info and thought I was home free last week until Pay Pal told me that I had an account and didn’t I want to use it…I replied no, and then was thrown off the site all together. This week, I have made sure I have my pay pal password so maybe that will help! Wish me luck!

Hi,
I am new to your website so in advance, I apologize if I ask a question that has already been answered someplace else.
I was referred here by a friend of a friend of a fried kind of thing because I am a single Caucasian/Pacific Islander ethnicity mixture father to two Mestizo children internationally adopted from Guatemala, ages 6 and 7. I was wondering if you take special orders to make a doll that resembles my little girl (there is literally nothing available, she has features that could be described as Asian/Latin/European and Indigenous/Spanish.) Additionally, I would actually like to get my little boy a special doll to (he has features that are described as Latin/European/Indigenous/Spanish.)
Thank you for your help, you are an excellent craftsman, I admire you!
Rich
