John has done the honors and has picked a winner for my ‘Advice and Win a Doll’ contest. The lucky winner is Julie! I’ve emailed her already with the good news. It’s not my Julie that I talk about all the time BTW, it’s another Julie.
I can’t begin to tell you all how much each and every one of your comments has been truly appreciated. I’m still a bit undecided. I know that red head/rainbow sweater is very popular but I think she may be a bit too busy, my background in the ad is the same blue as my site so I’m thinking if I put her in there it may be too much of a contrast. Hmm, I have to think about this a bit more. Again, thanks to all of you. If you all lived here I’d invite you over for tea and crumble.
I’m going to be laying low on Etsy until early September. I have to build up stock for next weeks Farmer’s Market (and I just found out John can take the day off to attend with me!) and I have a window display to get dolls ready for that starts Sept. 1 at Birkeland Brothers on Main Street, one of my most favorite places in the world! I’ll still be making a few dolls for Natural Pod in the meantime. I’ll post them as I make them.
BTW, here are two new gals up on NP..
OMG, did you guys see the opening of the Olympics? Usually, I’m not really interested in these things. Especially with all the ‘Team Visa’ ads that are on, that just seems really wrong to me. I feel I should explain something here. My workshop is right next to ‘John’s room’ where he goes to every night , we have a doorway that we can see and talk to each other through.. he watches the endless commentary on English Premier League Football and documentaries on animals and I blog/ email people and maybe sew if Jasper is happy playing with fabric or balls of yarn. Anyhow, last night he called me through to watch the opening ceremonies with the thousands monks preforming (not to o sure if they were really monks though), all the men doing Tai Chi (like thousands of them doing it at the same time) and then a pretty scary performance by Sarah Brightman.ย Anyhow, it was pretty impressive.. I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. But all that I kept thinking of, and I’m sure all my fellow BC-ers did as well, was ‘and we are having the 2010 opening at BC Place?..hmmm..’ For all of you who don’t know BC Place is a pretty run down stadium that was built in the 80’s. Not very impressive. I do have to say that I like watching gymnastics though, it’s left over from my childhood of idolizing Mary Lou Retton . Even had the hairdo, not so nice on a gal with curly hair.. those were ugly years.
Oh, and what is wrong with Kelly Ripa’s arms? They have surpassed Madonna’s in girth. Is that really necessary? Maybe I’m just jealous.
