break time is over!

Yeah! I think I may have found a new sitter, we are going to try her out on Monday but she sounds great. I met her today for an ‘interview’ and got good feelings from her and she’s learning to be a nurse. With Jasper ‘aka Danger Boy’, this is a very good thing. So, dolls should be up and running again in a week or so. Oh, how I’ve missed the gals. It’s been really sad not to have been able to do any work lately. I get asked all the time from customers how I manage to make dolls with the kids, it’s childcare. I have someone come in from about 8:30am to 12:30pm and then I get my afternoons with the boys. Really, really I couldn’t do it without childcare. When Ben was little I was able to work quite a bit. He napped 2 times a day for 2 hours at a time and went to bed at 7pm. He got up what seemed like 20 times a night, but come 9am I was ready to go again. But Jasper, oh my, he does NOT like to sleep. The only way he will sleep at night is attached to me. It’s pretty cute though, he swings his legs and arms around me as we lay side by side. I know these are times I will miss in a few years. Oh God, I’m tearing up as I write this.

This is my new favorite blog. Is it because she likes the dolls? Maybe, but I spent a good chunk of time going through her blog and it’s a good read. So, add it to your list my friends! I’d like to get some sort of list going of blogs that I read. I’m on WordPress, but because my blog is on a template, I’m not sure if I can do that fancy sidebar thing I know so many of you do. Hmmm, I’ll ask the gals at Aeolidia. They know everything.

I’ll post a pic soon of 27 Pouchy dolls that I am almost finished for Ben’s classmates. It’s so funny to see all their little faces all together. Mrs. Peters (Ben’s teacher and Earth Mother extraordinaire) is making them all receiving blankets and is going to present the children with the dolls at the end of the year celebration next Friday.

Wow! Thank you, I’m so surprised and honored that you mentioned my fledgling blog. I do love your dolls and hope to buy one some day for my little sweetie (and, um, for me, seriously). I enjoy reading your blog too (and my daughter was peeking over my shoulder and told me she liked the “little pink ladybug guys” – i.e. the little mushrooms at the bottom of the page). Have a lovely weekend.

My Jasper only sleeps with me, too. So funny. He started crawling and is seemingly drawn to electrical outlets and surge protectors. He is completely fearless during the day but such a cuddly mommy’s boy at night.
