Antenna Buns

ant

This is a little tutorial on how to put your dolls hair into antenna buns – or Bjork buns for us mid 90’s gals. It’s basically the same way you would do the bigger buns – that tutorial will be coming up next. I took some pics of doing those buns for a tutorial, but the pictures didn’t turn out well..  I will have tutorials on different hairstyles and even a sweater (!) in the next while. Please be patient with me – I can’t seem to find enough time to blog lately!

Using the top layer of hair – I take about an inch at the top front, then leave some down, then another inch near the back. Then twist the strands together almost like braiding very tightly. The strands will start to buckle on their own.

ant2Then, twist the coil around like in the picture.

ant3Tuck the ends into the center of the coils.

Then tuck the ends in all neat.

Tie a ribbon around the bun. There you go – easy peasy!

I hope this makes sense! I’m working on 6 dolls for Friday and we have a TONNE of new clothes ready to go up. I am so excited for you to see the new dresses and blouses and tunics – cute!

I’ll write a ‘proper’ blog post tomorrow. Lol, I feel like we need to ‘catch up’ !

Love the tutorial – thank you! Can’t wait to see the new clothes… =) FYI – we have been visiting my family in Vegas since the beginning of July. Arlo, Jewels (aka Star), and Olivia all made the journey. We have taken lots of pictures of the kids and their babes in the desert. I will do my best to send them your way once we return. =)

I love the hair, I tried to fashion Violets hair for her trip to grandmas and did not do that good of job. Thanks for showing me the how. No wonder my hair looks as it does. I can’t wait to see clothes…A girl always needs more clothes.

Thanks for the hair tutorial. We look forward to learning how to do all the hairstyles you do!! I only wish it was as easy as you make it sound!!! The pictures are definitely a BIG help.

Fridays are fast becomming our favourite days! We eagerly wait to see the new dolls and clothing up for sale. I think I have 2 growing fashionistas who drool over all the clothing they would like for Molly and Ginger.

I’m glad you call them Bjork buns too – I used to wear my hair like that all the time in university. Along with a long nylon rave skirt and platform sketchers, I was the coolest girl in engineering school. I should have known then I didn’t fit 😉
