Blessings Dolls

bamboletta babes_2013_11_20_7705

A few years back I did something called ‘Blessings Dolls’, where we had people write in and nominate someone they thought deserved a doll. This person (child or adult) could be in a situation where a doll is not feasible, or maybe they are having a tough time  or maybe they are just awesome and deserve some love. I haven’t done them for a while and since then we have given our ‘booboo’ dolls (these are the dolls I used for Blessing Dolls) to various local charities and hospitals, as well as to communities in North America that have been devastated by natural disasters.

I’d like to do Blessing Dolls again. We have a bunch of booboo dolls here and they really need new homes and would love to find someone to love. So, until June 23, please write in your nominations. We only have so many dolls so we can’t help everyone. What we will do is choose half the people randomly and the other half by who we feel is deserving. We aren’t sure how many dolls yet as we are still working through them.

So, to nominate someone please email us a bit about them to blessings@bamboletta.com . Please do not leave a comment below – it’s easier for me to keep everything in one place! On June 23rd, I will email the people who will be receiving dolls to get their contact info and mailing address.

Oh, how I love to do this. My heart is going to burst and I feel so grateful to be in this position to be able to make someone’s day. Much love to you all.

xo,
Christina

We recently lost my mom who my daughter was extremely close with. Sam is 3 and having a hard time with the loss and saying goodbye. We all are. I think a cute new edition for Sam would do her some good. She really needs the smiles right now and do does her mommy.

    Thanks

For Mallory Shugart. She is the live of my life. My health is precarious at best. Would love her to have one as a remembrance of her grandma.

I would like to nominate my friend Karyn Koe. She recently had a baby girl in January of this year and I think this would be a very special gift for her to give her daughter.

She has spent most of her adult like working for her family’s restuarant and selflessly helping her family (she takes care of her elderly mother) and basically is a one woman show at the restuarant on peanuts as a wage. Her husband just immagrated from the UK and was unable to wrok for sometime. It would make my heart burst to see someone as deserving as her recieve such a beautiful gift. Every few months I send her a package of hadn-me0downs from my daughter who is a yr old now because I know they could really use the help.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

My daughters name is Serafina, she is 9 months old. She is deserving of a blessing doll because she is the happiest sweetest baby, even with her severe reflux which has led to feeding issues and tummy muscle weakness, she smiles through her day and through her therapy appointments. I’m sure she would love to have a dolly friend to tag along with her to all her appointments! I can’t tell you how much this baby smiles, she is such an angel and such a trooper! We love her so!

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to maybe get her one of your gorgeous dolls, it would be such a special friend for her!

I would love to nominate my best friends daughter. My best friend helps me on an almost daily basis as I have a chronic illness. She has words or comfort, a hug and helps with my children despite having 4 of her own. Her daughter selflessly shares her time and mummy with my girls and I would love to be able to give something back by way of a doll as I know a purchase is out of the question. Xxxx thank you xxxx

I would like to nominate Libby Kranz. I do not know her personally, but I follow her blog http://www.love4jlk.org. On October 28, 2013, her daughter Jennifer was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous brain tumor, called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG for short) which is fatal upon diagnosis. It also happened to be Jennifer’s 6th birthday. Sadly, Jennifer went to be with the angels on February 12, 2014 after 4 month battle.

Jennifer leaves behind 3 siblings. 2 brothers, Jonathan (4)and Nicholas (2) and baby Charlotte (1).

They have been trying to learn to live life minus their glitter girl.

I would love to nominate my friend Jessica Raven. She is a huge inspiration to me. She’s mama to 3, one of which is special needs. This mama always has a kind thing to say for anyone and everyone, always seems to see the good in others, advocates tirelessly for her children (and everyone else’s). How she manages a household, is a WAHM, while ensuring her daughter with special needs enjoys all of the things a teenage girl should is beyond me. For a mama who never gets to spoil herself, but is the first to spoil others (and is always a bright sun when I, or anyone else, needs it) I’d love to see her receive a special lovely doll to remind her how wonderful and adored she truly is!

I am sitting at home watching the service for the 3 fallen RCMP officers and noticed 2 out of the 3 officers had a little girls or girls. I couldn’t help but think after seeing the blessing doll post how nice it would be for these little girls to have someone extra to cuddle with. I am sure these little girls are in need of a lot of extra cuddles at this time.

Three young girls lost their mama to a tragic car accident 2 years ago. Their father remarried a lady with 4 children. Little Allie, the youngest of the three girls, is only 3 years of age. Although she doesn’t remember her mama, she has had huge difficulties in this large family.

Allie is a cousin to my granddaughter, Ryah, who is also 3. They are dear friends and Ryah Shalom is always willing to share her “babies” with Allie.

I was thinking that Allie would dearly love a Bamboletta baby to call her very own. I can even envision sweet little Ryah being the one to present it to her.

So–that is my request. I love all of your babies and someday would love to purchase one for my only granddaughter.

I would like to nominate a very special lady in my life named Maria, my girlfriend’s mom. Ms. Maria was diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric Cancer in August 2013. Every since then, she has not only suffered with treatments and medications and side affects, she also suffered with bringing what she called a “burden” to her family(which she IS NOT a burden). After losing her job she has been trying her hardest to donate her time to her church and praying for visitors and and church members. What hit Maria the hardest was that her youngest daughter, my girlfriend, Esther, 18, was going to graduate high school. On top of that, her other daughter, Angie, was pregnant with her second daughter. Money was short everywhere for Maria to pay Esther’s school bill and help Angie even just take care of her daughter. Thought Maria is much thinner than she used to be, she still fights on to do her hardest. She wasn’t even supposed to make it 3 weeks after her diagnosis! She’s a miracle and The Lord was good to her and us. She just had 2 requests to God. To let her make it to her granddaughter’s birth and her daughter’s graduation. God has helped her seen both of these and hopefully give her more time. Enough time to even see her daughter graduate college and even get married and see her granddaughters start school. I know she deserves it. She is a blessing. And every day is a miracle. I hope ya’ll can see that she deserves this!

I would like to nominate my best friend, shes currently pregnant and has a3 year old girl as well she gives up everything for her and is the best mother ive ever seen. I think not only would a doll bring a smile to her daughter’s face but it’ll be double loved when the other girl that she is caring is old enough to share the same doll, mostly I know my friend would never expect this and Iid like for her to be the one whos hot a smile on her face about her daughter having one of your dolls and shes so sentimental it having an imperfection would make it even more special… regardless thank you for offering this you ladies bring smiles and happiness in big ways!

I would echo Tanya’s words, the children of the fallen RCMP officers in Moncton. Thank you Tanya for thinking of them.

I would like to nominate my daughter. She has a 16 month old little girl and was recently diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is currently going thru chemo and is working regularly after her treatments. If it wasn’t for breastfeeding her daughter she would not have caught the lymphoma at stage one. She is a very brave girl, doesn’t complain and goes about her life with bravery that continues to astound me.

I would like to nominate the 6 children of the RCMP officers who lost their lives the other day in the line of duty. As I watched the ceremony on television today my heart broke for the 3 little girls of Constable James Larche, Mia, Lauren and Alexa. Cst. Fabrice Gevaudan’s daughter Emma and Constable Ross’ son and yet to be born baby. I think that having a doll to cuddle and talk to would be a small comfort from all that they will be going through.

First of all, thank you for such an amazing and generous opportunity! I would like to nominate our brand new baby granddaughter Amelia Salucop. She arrived into this world on June 4, 2014 at 4:00 a.m.! She is the 8th child for my step-daughter and has 1 proud older sister and 6 already protective older brothers. I would love for baby Amelia to grow up with a Bamboletta doll, unfortunately since having heart surgery myself I have been able to find employment again. I think Bamboletta dolls are simply wonderful and regret that we cannot afford to make such an investment ourselves. If Amelia is awarded one of the dolls I know she would always treasure it. Blessings to you for providing these “Blessing Dolls”!

Not sure if I am allowed to nominate twice, but in this circumstance I think it may be permitted. I would like to second the nomination of Tanya and Darlene who so selflessly thought of the children of the fallen RCMP officers in Moncton. I think that it would be simply amazing if these children each received a doll. It would be a … blessing. xo xo xo

I would like to nominate my 5 year old. He is severely speech delayed and has extreme ADHD. Since Christmas his language has started to slowly develop into many single words, he is finding it frustrating when he is not understood. He would love a boy doll to play with, who would always understand him.
Our family is also in the process of adopting through the Ministry and would love our son to have a special treat.

I would like to nominate a little boy at my childrens school. he is in grade 1/prep and lost his little 3 year old brother this past weekend in a magic 4 wheel rive accident. this family is hurting and when the time is right a doll like this can help heal wounds and share grief.

I would like to nominate my cousin’s little girl, Katha McGregor. She has been diagnosed with Niemann-Pick disease and there is no cure. If anyone needs a blessing, it’s their family. Katha is only nine years old and she is slowly slipping away. She is now in a wheelchair most of the time, is having trouble speaking and swallowing and has been failing a lot these last few months. A special friend would be a real blessing!

Blessings to you for such a thoughtful gesture. I’d like to nominate Amy Steeves. Amy’s dad passed away last October and she has been helping her mom run the family farm since then. This spring, she’s been working tirelessly helping her mom sort through all the farm equipment that they may have to sell. We tend to hear about teenagers from a different perspective and seldom hear about all the good kids in this world. This young girl is a compassionate, caring, and selfless individual. She is a joy to be around and a wonderful comfort to her mother, as they adjust to life without her dad. I believe a BooBoo doll would be a great comfort to Amy when she’s feeling blue and missing her dad.

Hi, Id like to nominate my children. 4 weeks ago we lost our eldest son to a rare brain condition, ALD He was diagnosed 6 months ago. He was 9 years old. My other children are 2 boys age 7 and 4 and a 6 month old baby girl. They have had a hard year and Id love to give them a little bit of happy 🙂 the comfort of a doll could only help them as we try and figure out what life looks like now, without him.
    Thanks for your consideration

I would like to nominate my friend Dani’s mom. (I don’t even know her name…she’s just mom. She has alzheimer’s and had to be moved to a facility with 24 hour watch as she had been disappearing on my friend Dani during the night or while Dani was at work as a teacher. She always collected porcelain dolls, but we have found that, on her less lucid days, dolls bring her great comfort. Your dolls are so sweet and soft, I am sure she would just adore one. She is African American and partial to dolls of her color. What you are going is so very k8nd. God bless you.

I would like to nominated my sister, she’s the strongest person I ever meet.
She’s single mom of two very smart and kind kids. She was taking care of my mom during very difficult times until she passed 3 years ago and my dad that suddenly passed last March.
My sister is back in Mexico, I live here in Canada, we couldnt be together during this time so we’re trying to heal each other long distance, we talked everyday and the distance is not important we’re very close, i still want her to know how much I love her and how proud I’m of been her sister

I would like to nominate my healthy, full of life grandmother Annie. She lives alone in Manitoba, and while we are extremely close, the distance is hard. My grandma has had so much loss this past decade… starting with my grandpa(husband), my mom (her daughter-in-law) and then my dad (her son). She is an amazing, loving and giving lady who has become my mentor and friend with each passing day. She grew up very poor, and still tells me stories about the one doll she had, and how special and handmade she was. I think my grandma having a handmade doll made with so much love and beauty would light up her whole world and fill some of the void left behind.
Thanks for your consideration of this amazing 84 year old woman!!

I’d like to nominate my friend Felicia. She’s had quite the ordeal in her life physically, having gone through cancer and miraculously carried her first baby without treatment. The cancer went away!! She recently miscarried their second child and was devastated. In the midst of grieving, they had another cancer scare which would have involved intensive surgery which in turn would have affected the ability to carry another child. By God’s grace, she has been spared and healed again! She is now pregnant with her third child and is longing to hold this babe in her arms. Having lost my first child born silent and also miscarried my third with my 2nd/4th child in my arms, I totally understand the stress of carrying a baby full term and birthing them to be in our arms. She is a great support and a super friend!

I would like to nominate my 3 year old daughter. She was born with Spina Bifida. We were told she would never walk independently, most likely have a shunt, have bowel and bladder incontinence, have various cognitive issues and would have a lifetime of surgeries and hospital stays. Despite her diagnosis this little girl doesn’t know what the words can’t or won’t mean. She never ceases to amaze me, her doctors, therapists or others that know her. In our world she is like any other 3 year old with a few more doctors appointments. She loves to care for others. And can be seen daily holding, dressing, feeding and talking to her stuffed animals. She would be one happy little girl to have the honor of taking care of one your beautiful dolls.
P.S. Being a member of the military for 24 years I have seen the effects of children losing their parents in the line of duty and whole heartily agree with all the others who spoke of the RMCP officers. And to all the other nominees god bless.
You have a tough decision but know you can’t go wrong. It’s so amazing that you are offering such a great gesture of kindness!

I would like to nominate a friend of mine and her daughter. I met Rachel in a group for December 2012 moms. She was due with her son. During our pregnancies, Rachel found out that her daughter, Jill, has a severe form of epilepsy. Since then, Jill’s seizures have caused further health complications that result in many urinary issues (she has to have catheters changed multiple times daily) and a severe sensory processing disorder. Jill is no longer able to attend preschool, and Rachel will have to leave her job to stay home and take care of her. Throughout this, Rachel has remained incredibly strong and always hopeful that something will come up to better her daughter’s quality of life. Jill is only four, and she has spent more time in a hospital than any child should. One of your loving, huggable dolls will certainly help make her days brighter and her hospital stays easier.

Macarena Cardenaz’s three daughters. They lost their father to the Iraq War and he was a hero. The little girls deserve a daddy doll and or some baby dolls to keep up their sweet little spirits. Those kids are bright, caring, honest, and sweet and deserve a little bit of magic from the wonderful Team Bambo <3 xoxo
