Any Given Monday ….

I just thought it would be fun to share shots from our Monday ..

blog1First thing in the morning we put together the bodies and match up hair to create the doll ‘packages’ that the sewing mama’s will collect and put together.

blog2Big ‘Pile ‘o’ Hair’ …

blog3Some sewing mama’s picking up and dropping off their weekly dollies …

blog4Sewing, sewing, sewing .. today the gals work on clothing that will dress the dolls for Thursday’s upload…

blog5Brandi is entering all the clothing upload listings and Jennie is making up the boxes, cutting the cellophane, cutting the strings, getting the birth certificates ready and basically doing all the prep work for the big shipping day of all the dolls tomorrow..

blog8Lucky for us Bill, our sewing machine fix it guy, came by with his wife Karen (who now sew’s clothing for us). He mentioned that he sharpens scissors and had his machine in his van .. we basically pounced on the guy and gave him all our scissors. Lots. Of. Scissors.

blog10I have a little area set up with a basket of toys and some doll stuff (obviously!). Most of our sewing mama’s are moms (and the others are soon to be moms!) so having stuff to keep the little ones entertained is essential! Cute little guys!

There you have it .. a typical sort of Monday at Bamboletta. Me, I’m on the couch sewing on faces and I get up to say ‘hi’ and chit chat with the ladies as they come in. I should have got Brandi to snap a picture of me – next time! I’ll try to get some pics of our ‘Tuesday’ tomorrow.

Love the bit of sharing and see what happens in a day of a week with Team Bambo! Love that kids can come and play!

I love the hustle and bustle of pickups and drop offs on Mondays – it all works like a well oiled machine! Bill is super fabulous is he not? – he sharpened my scissors a few weeks back too and ordered me a new sewing machine (like the industrial Juki’s you have in the shop) AND I am so glad Karen is sewing for you now as well (we had a good chat about it last week and when they were leaving she said to Bill that she needed to stop by Bamboletta “on the way home” (which is the other direction LOL) for an interview. I am so glad you brought her into the family… she’s a lovely fit.

You do need to get someone to take a picture of you all nestled into your couch in the new bright and sunny space … you looked quite cozy there with your bins full of dolls, your long needles poking out tof the armrests and your tangle of embroidery thread overflowing from your basket. You’re wonderful!

PS You made Sahara’s day …she had no idea.

Wow, looks like a well oiled machine of a business. It truly does sound like you love what you do. You are so fortunate to be able to do what you love and get paid. Although I am sure there are days when it feels like work. It’s so neat and fascinating to see what happens there. It seems so magical on Fridays and when the dolls arrive at our homes. But so cool to see how you make it all happen every week. Thanks for sharing.
