A few weeks ago my dear customer Cassie wrote me a message on Facebook asking if I could do a fundraiser for Autism Awareness month and I thought it was a great idea. Many of us here at Bamboletta and I know many of you in the Bamboletta community are affected by Autism. Now, I know that April is Autism awareness month but sometimes I end up in a doll making time warp and got my dates mixed up and totally thought May was. Duh! Anyhow, to raise awareness and funds for the entire month of May I will be donating $10 from every rainbow hair doll (both vibrant and pastel rainbow) that is sold by Bamboletta. This week will have a few rainbows but we are trying hard to make a LOT of rainbow dollies – so stay tuned! I will keep a running tally and will announce our total by the end of the month. I didn’t realize this at the time but our friends over at Riley Blake (we <3 them!) designed a fabric line that will have a significant amount of the profits going to Autism Speaks! Way to go Riley Blake!
Speaking of fundraising stuff – in a few weeks I will be holding a special auction to benefit my son’s school. I did this last year as well and it’s something I can do to help support our small independent school. Some moms bake cookies .. I auction dolls (and believe me – no one would want me to bake cookies .. I’m a terrible baker!) I’ll host this on Hyenacart and will give advance notice. I think I will do 10 dolls this time, all with clothing sets – it will be fun!
