Addison

This is Addison. Addy has been sitting on my shelf for a very long time as I wasn’t sure if I could give her up. I’ve got a few here at home, just sitting around, dolls that are just that extra special that I have a hard time giving up. This is very silly of me I know, I just get so very attached to them and just like looking at them. Anyhow.. I decided to put Addy up on Etsy today, I think she needs a home where she’ll be played with and not just looked at and admired.

Exciting day here at Bamboletta – I’ve got three new types of dolls that I’m working on today. I’ll keep you posted!

Oh Christina, I would have trouble giving her up as well! She is absolutely darling! I LOVE her hair!!!!I saw her on the Facebook thing and was in love….Now, if I could find some justifying reason to tell my husband why we should have another Bamboletta!

I had a great weekend with my parents. I love when they are over, it’ so relaxing. My mom just kind of takes over everything and I can sit, drink tea and read Mothering.

This is just a quick post to let you all know that Natural Pod has uploaded all my new dolls. I think that there are close to 10 new dolls on there.  Here are a few of the new cuties up for adoption.

yeah!!

I found out today that I got into Circle Craft in November! I’m so excited about this, but also really nervous. I need stock..and a LOT of it.  It goes for 6 days with pretty long hours, it’s going to be intense.  About 5 years ago I went to Circle Craft and walked around marveling at the beautiful handcrafted things thinking to myself  ‘Man, these are like REAL crafters, they are so lucky that this is their job’ I am so lucky that this is my job. Ha, ha.. it’s not a job at all, it’s just a huge part of my life and who I am. I find that sometimes hard to explain that to people, that making dolls is more to me then producing a product. This is my other ‘baby’ and I love it so much.  I can’t explain how happy it makes me to make dolls for children. I know, I know, I keep on talking about this – but it’s true.

I’m finishing up the Natural Pod dolls. I’ll give them a call tomorrow to see when the expected date of upload onto the site will be and write it on the blog.

Mahar Dry Goods has posted the gnomes! I love their descriptions.

I heart Kate Nash

John spends a lot of his time in his car driving around all day for work. For his Christmas present this year I got him Sirius radio for a year. Declaring Canadian radio ‘really terrible’, he has embraced satellite radio with open arms. Much to his delight BBC Radio One is one of the stations that he gets, a great reminder of home (John is originally from Liverpool).  Anyhow, almost daily he comes home and heads straight for the computer to YouTube a new song that he’s heard on his daily commute. A few days ago he downloaded Kate Nash and her song ‘Foundations’, I heard it once and was in love. It’s happy and witty and a great start to spring. Her video is a funny reminder of ex boyfriends and the funny side of breaking up, I know all my friends back in Vancouver can relate to it. There is a brilliant scene where Kate opens a closet and all her boyfriends skateboards fall out into the hallway- lol- been there!

Ben at this moment is playing with the printer making copies of scribbles that he’s done..probably using up all my black ink, but it keeps him busy for a few minutes for me to work a little bit.

Milena is up on Etsy today.

I’ve got a great bunch of dolls heading Natural Pod’s way this week, there are about 10 dolls in the works for them. Very exciting!

Meike - March 12, 2008 - 2:18 am

I always wonder how you manage to make so many wonderful dolls with two small kids to look after – you must be Supermom! :)))

P.S. Going to look up that song now, happy and witty sounds right up my alley right now.
