Tour de France

I’m not a sport person. The most sport I get is from John watching Liverpool or England soccer (ahem, football) games on tv while I’m sewing in hair or something. He tells me about interesting (supposedly) plays and tactics as I feign interest. It annoys him so much that I am Italian and therefore part of a superior soccer team. When Ben was born, minutes after, John actually said ‘Oh God, he could play for Italy..couldn’t he?’.

The past few days I have turned into a sport nut- hence my lack of blogging. It is all about Tour de France at chez Platt right now. The scenery, the skill, the French on the sidelines drinking wine straight from the bottle..now that is sport! Not to mention the cutie bike guys just giving it while going up steep mountains. I find it so relaxing and addictive. I have no idea who is winning or what the point is but it’s keeping me very entertained.

Something is happening, I don’t know what.

On the dolls. This week has been a catch up week for my custom work. I may get a few dolls posted tomorrow on Etsy. I’ll see how we do in the morning, it’s all about little J’s naps right now.

I just have to add this in. I try to mention this video whenever anything French is mentioned. Amy K mentioned it in her blog months ago , that’s where I got it from. Anytime I need a laugh I watch it. It sums up my 12 years of French in highschool.ย

LOL – er, well… my son (3 at the time) once fell asleep while watching the Tour De France on TV. That’s more or less how I feel about it, too. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Although I like to watch the mountain laps, beautiful scenery. ๐Ÿ™‚ But hey – enjoy!

I think that’s why I like it..it’s like sleeping with my eyes open. I also get a kick out of the commentary, really, how exciting can biking be? Apparently it really is. John has really embraced the fact that we are both watching a sport together and is telling me about tactics, hmmm.. just show me the bikers eating and riding.. I LOVE when they do that!

Sleeping with your eyes open, lol. I’d rather sleep in bed with my eyes closed. Sleep is a scarce commodity here! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’m afraid I cannot share the enthousiasm a lot of people have for watching the Tour de France. I’ve been to France many times and us Dutch folks bike all the time, so those two don’t count. And I am SO not a sports person, that makes three reasons not to watch. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Enjoy it though!

I’d rather sleep with my eyes closed as well, but that is a luxury right now. Amazing what becomes a luxury when you have children ๐Ÿ™‚
Oh Christine, you have to give Tour a chance! ha, ha ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m thinking of running another contest for a doll but this time involving the Tour somehow.. I’ll post about it soon.

  5. […] Okay, off to watch the election. This is more exciting than, dare I say it, the Tour de France!! […]
