The Process of Making a Fairy

urbanfairys.jpg

Another very quick post (must get back to sewing!). I thought it would be fun to share a few pics I took today of us working on the fairies. The bodies, hair and faces are done- so now we are working on the outfits. I cut everything out and this afternoon John glued it together using a fabric glue. It’s then stitched , either by machine or by hand, together and assembled. My new, new thing is that I will have the wings detachable – they are going to go on similar to a backpack. A freakin’ brilliant idea from Dayna- who asked me to preform ‘surgery’ on a fairy I had up for sale on Etsy a while back. I *heart* my customers, they really are the best!

I would love to see you put some of the fairy costumes for sale on Etsy. Matching girl and doll fairy costumes would be might cute around next Halloween!!!

๐Ÿ™‚ SOOOOOOO sweet, I love all the bright and colourful wings John’s working on.

Abbie’s really loving her Plum Fairy – She had to remove her shoes the other day to put her toddler sized socks on her. They hung off the ends – it was quite comical to see her float around the room with floppy socks. Abbie then made her ‘ride’ her stuffed unicorn around the livingroom. They are best friends now, the doll and the unicorn… whom Abbie calls “Horey” – I HOPE in effort to be saying ‘horsie’ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Glad you are making it through your busy season! Keep on living the dream. ๐Ÿ˜‰
