Skin

You know I’ve always been hesitant to blog because I thought what went on behind the scenes was a little boring – probably because it’s what I do week to week. But there are a bunch of you ladies (that I love so much) that probably do find what we do interesting. I know when I started out dollmaking I would have loved to read about ‘boring’ things .. like doll skin!

My shipment of dollskin was shipped out May 27th and I just got it a few days ago. It’s a long way from the Netherlands and there was a sizable delay due to the Canada Post lockout. I love our doll skin and it’s well worth the wait! I ordered in fair, beige, dark tan and dark – my normal order. I was very excited because it’s been weeks since I had dark or dark tan skin and my beige was running really, really low. I got my order in and eagerly opened the big box – there was my fair, my dark tan and a new color that I didn’t order- sort of a blush color. There was a mix up and I was sent the blush color instead beige and no dark skin tone (they are out of stock so it will be some time before I get the dark skin in again 🙁 ). This blush color isn’t something I’d normally order – I got into a sort of routine with ordering ‘my’ colors and never ventured out. Well, it’s AWESOME and I love it – so warm and lovely and just gorgeous with dark hair. I am in love! Here’s the new tone …

Thanks to you ladies for sending in your doll love pictures! I have a contest going on for people to send through their Bamboletta Love pictures – it runs to the end of the month and the winners get a doll outfit and their pictures hung up in our new little shipping area. Email pics to bambolettapics@gmail.com.

Okay – back to doing faces! I’ll talk to you all soon!

The word ‘boring’ is NOT in the Bamboletta vocabulary. Trust me when we say that everything that happens with these sweet little angels is very interesting to us all! Please keep sharing. 🙂 And that blush skin tone is so pretty. I can’t wait to see what you create with it!

Well…nothing ventured…nothing gained….something like that. 🙂 I wonder if there is green skin and blue skin…like green with envy
and blue as in I’m feeling blue and yellow and orange and….well now the world goes ‘ round in circles of color like the rainbow.
Anyway just wondering outloud…:)

Simply beautiful! Love the blog posts….they are NEVER boring. Sometimes ‘mishaps’ have a way of bringing along something pleasant. I was reminded of that just the other day 🙂 Love the new shade!!!!

I think it’s beautiful. I do have a thing for the dark hair with “highlights” though :).

Shelby LaManna - July 27, 2011 - 8:53 pm

Love her! She looks summery.

I agree…I like the “behind the scenes” stuff.

Hopefully one day we’ll own a doll or two 😉

I absolutely LOVE it… and you are featuring it with my favorite ‘hair’ from the little “wig-tease” you gave us on FB earlier in the week… I absolutely LOVE that combo, paired with the dark eyes!! YES PLEASE!!! She is EXACTLY what I’ve been waiting for! I don’t even have to look at the other dolls in the upload, I already know I want this one. Oh please God, let this be the week my ‘newbie’ status ends. Oh how I wish I had one of the GT’s right now!! We’ll be gone camping with family, but I’ve heard the office has wi-fi, so hopefully I can get in for the upload on Friday. Now sure how fast it will be there, though, but I’ll give it my best shot! Or better yet… maybe you should just pull this one out for the Newbie upload the following week!! …just say’in! 😉 Keep up the great work… and I LOVE learning about the process!

Hugs,
Tanya

The new skin is gorgeous. She’s so warm and lovely. Her skin is sort of like my kids who are mixed Japanese/Caucasian…
Love it. 🙂

I love this new color! Although it gives me a new reason to get a doll with the new skin tone. When are those little baby bambos in sets of three going to be avaible…
