I got these dolls done this week…

nov2.jpg I especially love the red head at the frount.. I do love them all, of course… but she is the Waldorf version of Ariel from the Little Mermaid,  that hair is perfect for her! That was so fun to work on- I must have watched Little Mermaid hundreds of times when I was younger. I think I was 12 when it came out so I just young enough to enjoy this movie..one of the last memories of my childhood. I was really, really into mermaids- I think it began with watching Splash- remember that movie? I would lie in the tub with towels wrapped around my legs pretending to be a mermaid. Judging by all my custom orders- little girls are still heavily into mermaids, check out this cute picture that Monica sent me, it’s a mertail that I sent her a few weeks ago..

I bought a few yards of this fabric from my beloved Fabricworm and had Reggie sew it up into dresses for me. I had to keep one aside just in case. ‘Just in case?’ you may ask. Yes, just in case one day I have a girl. I have an embarrasing stash of clothing and a few dolls tucked away. John doesn’t know about this (he will now! love you babe!). Anyhow, I’ll just leave it at that 😉

Okay, off to watch the election. This is more exciting than, dare I say it, the Tour de France!!

BTW..does anyone know how to wrap text around images? I’m such a computer nob.

    those dolls are adorable!!! One day, I want to order a doll from you. What do you charge for your dolls? I have a little babyboy and want to give hime a doll when he is a bit older.

    Sooooo Cute! My little girl and I love looking at the pictures on your blog 🙂 I’m so excited for our custom doll to come in December lol! Every picture of completed dolls I have to look hard and see if maybe one fits ours lol! DD doesn’t know yet, so I can’t say anything to her.

    Awww….there is my sweet girl and her mermaid! Christina, you’ll lol to know that Paige the mermaid went trick or treating with Emma the mermaid. 😉 I’ll have to upload pictures for you. 🙂

    I loved Splash! Probably one of my favourite movies when I was a kid.

    My friend told me that the first instance of ‘Madison’ being used as a first name is that movie. I can’t say for certain, but it makes sense to me.

    You’re showing your age! (young!) I had to laugh because the kids I babysat and my own children watched the Little Mermaid. I do remember seeing Splash as a teenager and thought it would be cool to be a mermaid…except for her shrill mermaid shriek! Oh, your dolls are just too adorable… I am starting to obsess about owning one. And I can’t justify that except that I am in love with them… do grown women need dolls?? (just say yes!) As for the election, there is excitement here but it’s already dying down. I expect the apathy and complaining to begin again, unfortunately.

    Christina-we love the doll you donated for our upcoming Benefit Fiesta. “Lucita” is absolutely beautiful and I know she’s going to be a hit at the Silent Auction.     Your dolls are the most beautiful I’ve seen. I am looking for a doll to buy for my daughter and my son. They are one and three (and one, maybe two, on the way). I don’t think I could find time to make them dolls just now, as much as I would love to. I’m wondering how much a doll of yours costs and how “tall” a bamboletta doll is? You’ve said that you are busy now. When and how do I ask for a doll to be made, or find one you’ve already made? How much would shipping be to Pennsylvania, USA? Thank you.

    I just received the most beautiful doll from Natural Pod. She is a brunette with a red dress. I got her for my two year old son and he has not put her down since I gave her to him. He is in love! Your dolls are the most creative and beautiful I have ever seen! I want every single one! I’m looking for another one for my new baby son. He is barely four months old but he will need to have one of these beauties of his own. Thanks for your hard work – your dolls give a lot of children (and adults) a lot of joy! Kat from Texas
