Hello, goodbye, and see you soon!

Hi there!

I would like to introduce myself – I’m Kristin! I am one of the sewers here in the studio. My main contribution here is the teeny tiny outfits that adorn your Bambos. We put so much care into each little ruffle and bow in the hopes that you and your children with be completely delighted with the end result!

A little bit about myself, for the one or two out there that may be interested (Hi Mom!) I am a recent grad of the Fashion Design and Marketing Program from Lethbridge College and just moved back to Vancouver Island after completing my 5th year of treeplanting. The world of Bamboletta kind of fell into my lap when Christina came to my former place of work (Smoking Lily) to look at fabric and I happened to over hear that she was looking for sewers. Long story short, a couple weeks later I was part of the Bambo family 🙂

Sadly, this post is sort of a Hello and Goodbye! I will be taking a bit of a hiatus from the doll frock sewing business to return for a final year of treeplanting. I couldn’t leave without making one more little outfit for my own Bambo, her name is Charlie!

Charlie is sporting her treeplanting outfit equipped with dolly sized planting bags, though she prefers planting flowers!

On that note, I hope that you all have a wonderful summer and I will see you in the fall!

She should go with and tell us of her tree planting adventures…but don’t be surprised if you find her tre climbing. Have a great summer!

Nice to meet you, Kristin! I hope you have a great planting season, then come home ready to sew more doll clothes! By the way, I have the same leggings as Charlie! Have you read this book about tree planting?

    http://www.cbc.ca/books/booksandauthors/2011/09/eating-dirt-deep-forests-big-timber-and-life-with-the-tree-planting-tribe.html

It’s the author’s memoirs about her 17 years of planting. I started it (when I was visiting my family over Christmas) and would love to finish it sometime.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Kinda – I have not read the book though I plan to this summer. The author actually came to Victoria BC and my fiance went to see her speak (he also plants trees). I am looking forward to the read, thanks for the tip!
